Biography

Rocky Pedroso is an information technology leader with a career spanning over 20 years, with a strong background in academic, research, and healthcare IT.


Throughout his tenure at the University, Rocky has demonstrated exceptional leadership acumen. Previously, he assumed responsibility for the comprehensive planning, organization, and execution of all IT service desk functions. Moreover, he adeptly managed IT advancements and initiatives, ensuring their successful implementation.

Rocky's strategic mindset led to the establishment of a 24/7 service desk operation and the development of an IT Service Management (ITSM) team, which played a pivotal role in identifying and implementing improvements. Recognizing the importance of professional growth, he also spearheaded several professional development initiatives to empower his staff, enabling them to expand their skill sets and pursue further education.

With extensive experience in leading large teams, Rocky has effectively overseen teams of over 40 help desk technicians. Demonstrating his commitment to excellence, he holds an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification, a globally recognized collection of best practices for IT management.

A proud ‘Cane, Rocky earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the Miami Herbert Business School in 2013.
